The Large-Scale Gear Metrology Laboratory in Bremen is a unique facility for the measurement and evaluation of gears with diameters of up to 3 m. The goal of the work conducted here is to research the dependencies between design, production, quality, and operational characteristics. With further upgrades, it will be the first DAkkS certified laboratory for the calibration of large gear material standards by the end of 2016.
